Privacy.
Your clients' books stay on your computer. Here is exactly what goes out, and when.
What stays on your computer.
- Company files: trial balances, mappings, statements and every disclosure. They can be encrypted with a password.
- Automatic backups, and the copies you make to your own drive.
- Logs, the recent-file list and the firm details you type in.
What is sent, and when.
| When | To | What |
|---|---|---|
| Activating or refreshing a licence (about every 7 days) | Our licence server | The licence key, the e-mail you enter, a device id (a one-way hash of the Windows machine id) and the computer name |
| Update check, on start | Our licence server | A request for the latest version number; nothing about you or your data |
| Fetch from MCA records, only when you click it and agree | QorpIQ's public lookup service | The CIN you entered (public information) |
| Reading Tally | Tally on your own computer | Read-only requests; nothing leaves the computer |
What we keep.
For each licence key: the customer name and e-mail, the device ids and computer names, and the first and last check-in times. Activations and refusals are logged with the address they came from. This is used only to administer licences.
